Pastor Smith was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2006. Since then, he has served several churches—through proclaiming the Word, youth ministry, and children’s ministry. (The children’s message is almost his favorite part of the worship service!)
Pastor Smith brings to the pulpit perspectives on Scripture gained from 25 years as a professor of biblical studies. He served on the faculties of Westminster Theological Seminary, Redeemer Seminary (Dallas), Erskine College & Seminary, and Missional Training Center (Phoenix). On the way, he authored a couple of books, the most interesting being Searching for the Self: Classic Stories, Christian Scripture, and the Quest for Personal Identity (Wipf & Stock, 2018).
Pastor Smith has been married to Dawn for almost 30 years. They have two daughters, one of whom is adopted, and are also the proud parents of a Goldendoodle named Winston.
